BIOGRAPHY
Kristen Miller is an assistant professor in the JoAnn McGrath School of Nursing and Health Professions at vnsr威尼斯城官网登入 College where she has taught since 2020. She also serves as the simulation coordinator, and as faculty advisor for the four Student Nurses Associations at the College. She has been a nurse since 2005 and has been teaching since 2013.
Prior to teaching at vnsr威尼斯城官网登入, Miller worked for nine years as a staff and charge nurse at Ascension Columbia – St. Mary’s Milwaukee Hospital on a medical/surgical unit. She was trained in chemotherapy medication administration and safe handling. Leaning on her enjoyment for precepting nursing students and orienting new employees, she transitioned to the educator role in academia as an assistant professor at Columbia College of Nursing in 2013. There she also served as clinical learning and simulation center coordinator as well as president, secretary and succession committee member of Sigma chapter, Tau Sigma At-Large.
Miller earned her Master of Science in Nursing as a Nurse Educator from Concordia University of Wisconsin and Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Winona State University. She also is a Certified Nurse Educator, a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator, and certified from American Heart Association to provide Basic Life Support. She is a member of National and Wisconsin Leagues for Nursing, Society for Simulation in Healthcare, and International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning.
